He has worked in senior positions in various organizations from Govt. sector to Public sector, private sector and Multi-National Companies. For the first 8 yrs in his career, he worked with Government of Orissa for setting up 4 X 62.5MWTalcher thermal project during 1966 to 1974.Thereafter, he joined BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd.) at New Delhi and western region Head Quarters at Nagpur from 1975 to 1995. He has worked from installation to after sales services of large power plants upto 500MW.

He left BHEL as Additional General Manager, and joined General Electric Power Services (India) Ltd, (GEPSIL) a wholly owned subsidy of GE (USA), Head Quarter at New Delhi. He worked in GE as Managing Director and CEO of this company from 1995 to 2000, started the company from grass root. He established the various business segments including regional set ups at different parts of the country. Apart from India, he looked after the power business in Bangladesh/ Sri Lanka and Nepal. He has been working since 2000 in various Private/ Public sectors in senior position in the power business such as.
